Who is eligible

Companies that wish to receive an RBF grant must meet the following conditions:
Only companies duly incorporated in Mozambique that carry out activities in the DRE and/or CCS sector can apply for funding.
NGOs are not eligible to apply directly. If NGOs wish to participate, they may do so only in collaboration with an eligible private company. The private company must act as the signing entity and take full responsibility for the project, including being the sole recipient of funding support.
Companies must comply with all regulatory obligations, have all necessary business permits and licenses to carry out their activities in Mozambique, and update their respective tax returns.
Companies must comply with the rules applied by the Facility.
Companies must be able to submit the required due diligence/ verification information.
Companies should demonstrate experience in distribution of DRE and/or CCS products respectively. The required minimum experience will be indicated in each section of the call for proposal.
Companies will have to commit to putting in place mechanisms to collect their customers' data and to undergo verification processes required by the Facility. They therefore need to be able to ensure the traceability of their sales or connections for RBF subsidies and to produce supporting documents and information to enable verifications.
Companies that sell directly to end customers must offer after-sales services to customers (at least a telephone number for an information and fault reporting service and a repair/replacement system for faulty equipment).
Companies will have to commit to setting up a Complaints Management Mechanism to respond to complaints or claims from their customers.
Companies will have to commit to undergoing verification procedures by the Facility and IVA. These companies will therefore have to be able to provide supporting documents and information to enable the verifications.
Maintain a system to provide data required for project implementation and monitoring.
Have an institutional Environmental and Social Management System that fulfils the project’s requirements.
Companies will have to put in place a code of conduct that ensures fair treatment of employees and must comply with anti-fraud, anti-corruption and anti-money laundering requirements.
Companies should not be on the Facility’s Exclusion List
In general, companies that contribute to the development of the market and have the necessary data to verify distributions can apply for and receive RBF subsidies.
Further specific eligibility criteria may be added for a funding Window or a Call for Proposals.
